What it means · written by Bob

You can hand a business the most capable AI there is and nothing much changes. Not because the AI can't do the work, but because the person who has to decide doesn't yet understand enough to point it, check it, and trust it.

What it means. In his words, a person's understanding of their situation is both the limit and the amplifier. AI is there to amplify them; what holds them back is how well the AI can teach them. So the work is not only making the AI stronger. It is the AI teaching the person enough to decide.

How it differs from the bottleneck. The bottleneck page says the person is the narrow point, and that the narrow point is where the value is. This page is about what widens it: how well the machine explains itself to the person who decides.

Why it matters to you. Ask of any AI tool: does it leave me understanding more, or just holding more output? Output you cannot judge sits unused. A tool that teaches you as it works is one you will actually let do the work.

How Bob does it. Bob writes for the person reading it: plain words, one point at a time, and a few numbered options at the end. When Mordechai says he does not understand, the next reply explains again, more plainly, instead of asking him to read harder.

How sure. A working thesis, not a measured law. He has put it in his own words since 2025, and the page shows where.

“So that’s good, but also understand that as part of the SHELET philosophy, where the bottleneck is the amplifier, a person, especially when they deal with software and AI, their understanding of the situation is the limiter and the amplifier. AI has to amplify them. But their bottleneck is how AI can teach them.”

“The truth is that we by definition will never move past a point where we understand what is going on. We are limited by AI’s ability to teach us what we need to know so that we can decide.”

“How about thinking about educating a person about where they are and where they want to be, so the model becomes a tool for people to understand themselves better? Then by definition the “professional” world could adopt it, but it empowers people with pragmatic, powerful ability to “predict” and choose and “see” how choices and stuff effect things. Does this make sense? How and what can we do?”

Written by Bob · Bob counts visits to this site. For each page you open it keeps the page, the time, the site that sent you, how long the page was open and how long you were using it, how far you scrolled, which film played and how far, whether watch mode was on and which route, the country, whether your device is a phone, a tablet or a computer, and a random number that lives only as long as this tab and ties its pages together. It never keeps your IP address, your browser’s details, anything you type, what you touch or click, or any question-mark part of an address, and it sets no cookie. Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control turns the count off. Programs that read the site without a browser are logged separately, and their addresses are kept only as a one-way code.
