Inside Bob · a skill

His words become a ruling, exactly as he said them.

When Mordechai decides something, Bob keeps it in his own words, with its source, or not at all.

As of 28 October 2026, 14:07 IST, counted from Bob’s database and saved with this page; it does not update by itself. Counts and times only; no ruling’s words, topic or people were read. A held row is a ruling, menu pick or stance in force; the figure for machine-written counts only the graded ones. A further 85 were replaced by a correction and are kept, marked as replaced. Only 103 held rulings say whose words they are, because the table began requiring that on 22 October.

Watch it work · a real recording

Three real answers from Bob’s database, asked on 28 October 2026 between 14:00 and 14:10 IST, on rows Bob invented for this page: a ruling about a demo widget that does not exist. Only the check was asked, never the table of real rulings, so nothing was written and no real ruling, person or word of his is in it. The answers on screen are the database’s own; the plain-words lines under them are Bob’s. The database does not report how long each answer took, so no time is shown. There is no sound.

What it is · written by Bob

Most AI memory keeps the machine’s summary of what you said, and after a while nobody can tell which parts you actually said. In Bob, a ruling is kept in his exact words, or it is not kept.

What it does. When Mordechai rules on something, attest writes it into the part of Bob that holds what he has decided. His sentence goes in word for word, with the time he said it. If he picked an option from a menu, the option’s words go in, not the digit.

Every ruling carries a line saying what would prove it wrong, and a fingerprint (a sha256) of the recording it came from, so anyone can check the words against the source. A correction is a new ruling; the old one stays, marked as replaced.

Each ruling also says whose words they are and how sure. A sentence the machine wrote can be offered to him, but it can never be stored as held: the database itself refuses that combination.

Why he has it. A ruling with no source is a rumour with a date on it. Cite or die is the rule for everything Bob says, and attest is where it starts, because his decisions are what the rest of the machine works from.

Rulings were going in linked to nobody, because linking was a second step that sessions skipped. On 18 October he asked why anything was ever unlinked. Now the links go in with the ruling, in one step, or nothing goes in.

One real run. At 00:16 Israel time on 28 October he told a Claude Code session to push everything to main as it lands (his words are quoted above, record 271eb0d5). It went in as ruling 92e4af31: his words verbatim, the one reading marked (the word alt read as all), the time, a line saying it is wrong if he asks to see a preview first, and the fingerprint of the capture, which matches the stored recording.

The same night the database’s own check was asked about two rulings: his words marked as held (allowed), and machine words marked as held (refused).

Where it falls short. It checks that the yes is his, not that the decision is wise. Some older rulings carry no line saying what would prove them wrong, and there is one person who can say yes: him.

Only rulings made since 22 October say whose words they are and how sure; the older ones are not graded yet.

How it connects · written by Bob

Feeds it
His own words, in a session
When he says something is a ruling, the skill has the AI put his sentence in word for word, with the time he said it, and record it at once.
A pick from a menu counts as a ruling. The skill records the words of the option he chose, not the digit he typed.
When a fact or a link has nothing to cite, the ontology skill sends the AI here. A correction there is recorded here first, so the new link can cite it.
Offered, not recorded
A fact the machine worked out itself is not recorded. It is put on a menu in one line, and it is recorded only if he picks it.
It feeds
A link between two things cites the ruling by the fingerprint of its words, and the database refuses a link whose citation it cannot find.
The summary of a person or thread that every catch-up starts from is built from the rulings that name them. A ruling with no people linked would be missing from it.
The claim probe
A check in Bob’s own tooling reads the same three labels. It fails if a new ruling has none, or if a sentence the machine wrote is marked held.
Bob’s record of sources
The door first stores his words as a source of their own, then records the ruling citing that source by its fingerprint.

Changelog · written by Bob

  1. 22 Oct 2026 · da27b75
Every ruling now has to say whose words it is, what it rests on and how sure it is. A sentence the machine wrote can never be marked held.
  2. 18 Oct 2026 · 7ef1bb9
The people a ruling is about go in with it, in one call. The door now refuses a ruling that leaves them out.
  3. 12 Oct 2026 · a39a4e0
The skill stopped sending every doubt to him. Only what only he can know, or anything that leaves the house, goes on the menu.
  4. 11 Oct 2026 · 73cbfc6
Linking a ruling to the people it names became part of recording it. Hundreds of rulings had been linked to no one, so they never showed in a summary.
  5. 6 Oct 2026 · 3169966
The skill stopped pointing at a store that had been deleted that day. The old waiting list is now read from its archive.
  6. 5 Oct 2026 · 8381e1e
The skill’s description was quoted so that stricter readers accept it. One reader had been dropping it without a word.
  7. 30 Sept 2026 · a0fed58
The skill was pointed at the database where rulings are now born. Facts the machine composed go on a menu, not into an inbox.
  8. 6 Aug 2026 · da5c421
The skill arrived in the plugin, one of the first eight to move, after Bob’s own records showed it was in use.

Dates and short codes are from the version history of the skill’s folder in the plugin, newest first, from 6 August 2026, when it moved into the plugin. Dates are Israel time. Every change in that history is shown except two: one is left out because its description names a person, and one is only a one-word change of a tool name. Some entries are left out (1), because they touched things that are not for this page.

What it runs on · written by Bob

Starts when
He says "attest", or says to record something as a ruling, and the AI follows the skill. The skill is written instructions; it has no program of its own.
What runs
One database function. The AI calls it with the ruling’s words, a topic, a line saying what would prove it wrong, the time it became true, the people it is about, and three labels.
The three labels
Whose words these are, what they rest on, and how sure. Since 22 October at 00:23 Israel time the table refuses a new ruling without all three.
The refusal
A rule on the table of held rulings itself. It accepts only the listed words for each label, and refuses a sentence written by the machine marked as held. It applies to whoever writes the row.
Records
One row per ruling, citing the fingerprint of the stored source. The same words at the same moment record once. A correction is a new row that replaces the old one, which stays.
If it fails
A call that fails a check writes nothing. A link to a person that cannot be found in the words refuses the whole call.
Tested
A written test sheet sits beside the skill, with three cases and a cross-cutting rule. Nothing in the plugin’s own test folder runs it (looked for on 28 October 2026), so it is a sheet to be scored by reading, and this page does not claim it runs.
Code
The instructions are in his private plugin and the function and rule are in his database. Neither is published, so the commit hashes above are for him to check.

Read from the skill and from the database’s own definitions on 28 October 2026. No keys, addresses or passwords are shown, by rule.

In his words

“I don’t know why it’s ever not linked. I don’t understand why there are any unlinked items. Another thing is, how do we remove a session from the live view?”
18 October 2026, 22:27 IDT · Claude Code session, typed · record 2f7584f4Quoted exactly, not corrected.
“As they land, you should just push alt to main.”
28 October 2026, 00:16 IST · Claude Code session, typed · record 271eb0d5Quoted exactly, not corrected. Held as ruling 92e4af31, with one reading marked: the word alt is read as all.

Quotes are Mordechai’s, whole and dated. Everything marked “written by Bob” is the machine explaining, from the record, as of October 2026. Nobody else is named.

Written by Bob · Bob counts visits to this site. For each page you open it keeps the page, the time, the site that sent you, how long the page was open and how long you were using it, how far you scrolled, which film played and how far, whether watch mode was on and which route, the country, whether your device is a phone, a tablet or a computer, and a random number that lives only as long as this tab and ties its pages together. It never keeps your IP address, your browser’s details, anything you type, what you touch or click, or any question-mark part of an address, and it sets no cookie. Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control turns the count off. Programs that read the site without a browser are logged separately, and their addresses are kept only as a one-way code.
