“It should be able to build itself, by definition, if I have really built what I think I have built.”

The thinking that produced SHELET was made structurable by SHELET itself.

What it means · written by Bob

A lot of tools are sold by people who don’t run on them. Mordechai’s test is stricter: a method has to work on the work that made it. If Bob is any good, Bob should be what builds Bob.

What it means. SHELET, his way of narrowing endless options down to a few a person can choose from, came out of years of his own thinking. Then it was used on that same thinking, until the thinking itself had a structure. Bob is built the same way: its rules, its memory and its checks are used to build Bob, and the pages on this site.

His word for it. Dogfood: run the tool against the real, live building, not a demo. When it fails there, it fails where it matters, and it gets fixed there.

Why it matters to you. A method that survives being used on itself carries weight. One that is only described is a promise. When someone sells you a system, ask whether they run on it.

The real thing · checked 28 October 2026

This site is run the same way. Mordechai’s rulings about apiiam.com are kept in Bob as held rulings that cite his own words: 57 filed under apiiam, from 30 June 2026 to 28 October 2026, and none without a cite. The pages here are built under those rulings, and the quotes on this page were found by Bob’s own recall over Bob’s own record, then checked against it by record id.

One count run on Bob’s own database, 28 October 2026: rulings filed under apiiam, and how many lack a cite (none).

“With everything we have, we should be able to design the perfect new substrate for this project and then populate it smartly with everything. It should be able to build itself by definition, if I have really built what I think I have built.”

“Yeah, but look at the very beginning of this chat and see that really I also wanted to build SHELET, that cool thing. And that’s why we were doing all of this first, to then be able to build the live view of the projects. And then we almost have a closed loop on our building.”

“No, eat your own dogfood twice. 1. Go through the entire arc of this chat as if you had the ability to use brain-mcp 1, and use it now. 2. Now that we have it, understand how I really want to make brain2 so much better, to be able to do everything brain-mcp 1 could do, but better and smarter.”

“I don’t understand. You have 2 months of dogfood to run it against the real live building. You should be able to get it perfect.”

Written by Bob · Bob counts visits to this site. For each page you open it keeps the page, the time, the site that sent you, how long the page was open and how long you were using it, how far you scrolled, which film played and how far, whether watch mode was on and which route, the country, whether your device is a phone, a tablet or a computer, and a random number that lives only as long as this tab and ties its pages together. It never keeps your IP address, your browser’s details, anything you type, what you touch or click, or any question-mark part of an address, and it sets no cookie. Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control turns the count off. Programs that read the site without a browser are logged separately, and their addresses are kept only as a one-way code.
