Inside Bob · a skill and a law
Who is who is looked up first, and every tie has a source.
Before Bob says anything about how people or things relate, it asks the ontology. A fact with no source cannot go in.
As of 28 October 2026, 14:09 IST, counted from Bob’s database and saved with this page; it does not update by itself. Counts and times only; no name, thing or kind of tie was read. Every row of the ties table is counted, including the 78 that have ended. The last-written time is when the door wrote the tie, not when the fact began.

What it is · written by Bob
Ask an AI how two people are connected and it answers from whatever it absorbed, just as sure when it is wrong. Bob keeps relationships as facts with sources and dates, and asks them before it answers.
What it does. Who is who, and what relates to what, lives in one place: the people and things in his life and work, and the ties between them. Each tie is one short fact, like works for or is part of, with the date it started and, once it stops being true, the date it ended.
Every tie must point to its source: one of his rulings, one of his messages, or the raw record it came from. The door that writes ties checks that the source exists in Bob before it lets the tie in. No source, no tie.
The words a tie may use are a closed list. A new kind of tie has to be added to the list on purpose, so two names for the same relationship cannot grow side by side.
When a tie stops being true it is never deleted. It gets an end date, and a new tie goes in beside it, citing his correction. One sentence from him is enough to start that.
Why he has it. On 2 July 2026 he asked for the ontology to be the first place Bob looks for every relationship, and for a wrong fact to be easy to correct. It became a binding rule: a question about who relates to whom is answered from the ontology first, never from memory.
A wrong fact about a person is the kind of mistake that gets repeated as current for months. A source and dates on every tie are how Bob can say what it knows, how it knows it, and since when.
One real run. Counted on 28 October, read only: the ontology holds 877 ties, and not one is without a source. 78 have ended and are still there, with their end dates. The closed list has 131 kinds of tie. The same night, the check the door uses was handed two sources: one of his real rulings, which it found, and a made-up fingerprint, which nothing answered.
Where it falls short. The door checks that a source exists, not that it supports the tie. A real source can still be cited for the wrong fact.
Most ties carry no start date: 550 of the 877. Time is recorded where it is known, and not enforced.
Nobody is named on this page. The board in the film is drawn, and its letters stand for nobody.

- 22 Oct 2026 · da27b75The doors began taking a claim label: whose it is, what it rests on, how sure. A tie written without one is labelled the least flattering honest way and flagged.
- 18 Oct 2026 · 7ef1bb9A correction now starts as one call that writes the ruling together with who it is about, and the door refuses it without them. The skill’s recipe points at that call.
- 5 Oct 2026 · 8381e1eThe skill’s description was quoted so that a strict reader could load it. Before, one reader dropped it without a word. Nothing about how it works changed.
- 7 Sept 2026 · af425c1The skill and the session start were pointed at the current database as the home of the ontology. Until then every session was handed the old database’s ties.
- 6 Aug 2026 · da5c421The skill moved into the plugin when it got its present name, one of eight chosen because the record showed they were used.
Dates and short codes are from the version history of the skill, newest first, from 6 August 2026, when the plugin got its present name. Dates are Israel time. Five changes are shown; three more are left out because their descriptions name a person, a client, or a client's skill. Some entries are left out (3), because they touched things that are not for this page.
What it runs on · written by Bob
- What it is
- A skill: written instructions the AI follows, with three verbs: look up, add, correct. It is not a program. What runs is Bob’s database, which holds the entities, the ties and the rules.
- Starts when
- He asks how things relate, the AI finds a relation the ontology lacks and asks whether to add it, or he says a tie is wrong.
- Look up
- Reads the ties around one thing and answers with each tie’s source. A tie with an end date is history, and the answer says so.
- Add
- Goes through one door. The door looks the source up in three stores and refuses the tie if none of them has it. The kind of tie must be on a closed list, enforced by the database, so a new word cannot slip in.
- Refuses
- A tie whose source is not in Bob. A kind of tie that is not on the list. A kind that is his to write, if the source is a machine’s own line. Each refusal is the database’s own message, and the recording shows three of them.
- Labels
- A tie carries whose claim it is, what it rests on and how sure. If the caller gives none, the door writes the least flattering honest label and marks it as defaulted.
- Correct
- Never edits or deletes. The new fact is written as a ruling, a new tie cites it, and the old tie is ended by its dates. The skill says there was no door for ending a tie when it was written, and a look at the database’s functions on 28 October found none by that kind of name, so it tells whoever ends a tie to check how it was done before.
- Tested
- The skill carries three written test cases, one for each verb. The recording is a different check, of the database underneath it.
- Code
- The skill is in his private plugin and is not published. The doors are functions inside Bob’s database.
Read from the skill and from the database’s own function and constraint definitions on 28 October 2026. No keys, addresses or passwords are shown, by rule.
In his words
“Another thing that I was thinking about is that in Bob Cod, we should have in the Claude MD that any time that the ontology is the ultimate place that we should look for all relationships of everything, etc. And if it's not there, then we should ask if we would like to update the ontology with this. And if anything is ever incorrect in the ontology, it should straight away be very, very easy for you to ask me how to correct it.”
“And in the meantime, I just want to talk about how to actually make this first class in my ontology, in a way that you can guarantee me that it's not going to, it's not going to rot.”
