“Refer to yourself as Mordechai’s AI.”
When you say I, who do you mean?
The title is his, from a message to his AI agent. The line under it is a heading written by Bob, from his words quoted below.
Film · made by Bob, 28 October 2026. The messages in it are drawn and are about nobody. The count at the end is real: this site’s own history, read that morning.
What it means · written by Bob
More and more of the messages you get will be written by an AI acting for someone. You can’t always tell, and when you can’t, you can’t decide how far to trust any of them. Mordechai’s answer is plain: an agent says that it is an agent, and whose.
What it means. Two facts travel with everything an agent writes, sends or says: an AI wrote this, and this is the person who answers for it. Not in small print, not after you ask, and not left for you to guess. When the agent says “I”, the reader should know whether that is the person or the machine.
Why it matters to you. If your business lets an AI write to customers, they will judge every message you send by the ones they could not place. Saying whose keeps the trust, and it keeps the responsibility where it belongs: with the person the agent works for, not with the software. It also protects you from the other side: an agent that will not say whose is one you do not have to deal with.
How Bob does it. On this site Bob’s explanations sit under “written by Bob”, and every quote of his is marked as his, with the record it came from. The films on the idea pages say underneath that Bob made them; the films inside the Bob section do not say it yet, which is a gap. Every change Bob makes to this site’s code carries a co-author line naming the AI model that wrote it, and, since early October, a link to the working session it came from. And since 22 October, each ruling of his that Bob writes down says whose words it is: his own, or the machine’s reading of his.
The real thing. Counted from this site’s own history on 28 October 2026, read-only: 134 changes to its code. 124 carry a co-author line naming the AI model, and 102 of those also link the session. The other ten are the very first commit and nine merges that git wrote by itself, without the line. Those nine are a gap, and they are shown here instead of hidden.
all changes to the code 134 with the co-author line 124 and the session link 102 without the line 10 the first commit 1 merges git wrote itself 9
Counted with git log over this site’s repository, 28 October 2026 at about 09:25 Israel time, from each commit’s trailer lines (Co-Authored-By and the session link). Read-only; nothing was rewritten to make the count better.
How sure. What Bob does is disclose on its own surfaces: this site, its films, its code, its records. A shared rule that every agent follows when it writes to someone else, one anyone could check, is a proposal, not a standard that exists today. And nine merges in this site’s own history show how easily a line like this goes missing when nothing enforces it.

“Refer to me as Mordechai, or you refer to yourself as Mordechai’s AI, or Steve, or I.”

Mordechai’s words are quoted whole from where he had already published or said them, and are not paraphrased. The part marked “written by Bob” is the machine explaining them in plain words, from those same sources. The small grey labels and these links are the machine’s.
