“Primary data is permanent. Interpretations are temporary.”
“Invest in the structural layer, not more interpretation pipelines.”
Film · made by Bob, 28 October 2026. “Floor” is Bob’s real name for the raw layer; the records, fingerprints and summaries in it are drawn to show the idea.
What it means · written by Bob
Most systems keep the summary and lose the thing it summed up. When the summary turns out wrong, there is nothing left to check it against. Bob keeps the original first, and treats everything else as a draft on top of it.
What it means. The raw record is the foundation: the message as it was sent, the file as it arrived. Summaries, dashboards and AI answers are built on top of it, and they can always be thrown away and built again.
Why it matters to you. Summaries are often wrong. If you kept the original, you go back and check. If you only kept the summary, the mistake is permanent.
What lasts. Tools change, models change, and every summary gets rewritten. The original record outlasts all of them.
How Bob does it. Bob keeps the raw record on its own floor, each item under its fingerprint. Everything worked out from it points back to the record it came from.
Drawn by Bob. The three layers and the three fingerprints on the floor are real; the wrong summary is the idea’s shape, not a recorded event.

The real thing · checked 28 October 2026
Bob’s database has three layers. The floor holds the raw records, each under its fingerprint. Above it sits what is worked out from them, and above that, only what Mordechai has ruled. On 28 October Bob checked two things. Every message it has worked out names the raw record it came from: none is missing one. Every ruling cites its source: none is missing one.
Two counts run on Bob’s own database, 28 October 2026. Both came back zero.

The same counts, run again later that morning, with one more: whether each message’s raw record is really on the floor. A real session, shown in full and not edited; tap to open it full size. Read-only, and counts only: no message, sender or ruling is shown.
“no no no think only about PRIMARY DATA — 359,167 messages, 132 repos, 1,427 commits, 31,832 videos consumed, 5,524 markdown docs, nothing else. Explain to be only from primary raw data, not interpretations??”
“I was primarily referring to my own data. “You are giving me garbage summaries of summaries.” Deeply mine me from primary sources.”
“Why not make a real parquet or alt db with all the real data, and then we can drill down really.”
“Yesod (יסוד) = Hebrew for foundation. The principle: the foundation layer of any data system must be the raw, primary data. Everything built on top — summaries, analytics, visualizations, interpretations — is temporary and replaceable.”

Mordechai’s words are quoted whole from where he had already published or said them, and are not paraphrased. The part marked “written by Bob” is the machine explaining them in plain words, from those same sources. The small grey labels and these links are the machine’s.
